If I don’t try then I’m never gonna fail, I’m not an anchor, I’m a sail…

This song was interesting to write. My former manager and still very
close friend (and incredible songwriter too) Jane E Robertson once
said to me in one of our thoughtful chats, 'some people are anchors,
and not sails'. After I thought about it for a few seconds, I agreed -
what an analogy to use though right? I asked her if I could use it for a
song and she gave her blessing. When we sat down to write it, we
further used the sailing analogies and it unfolded for me visually
too. It's pretty special to me as it represents getting up and doing
something with your life, not just waiting for it to happen.
