about

For so many artists, musicians and bands, 2020 was a prick. 2021 was an utter bastard. The continuous lockdowns and restrictions could've been described as a living hell. So many found themselves out of
work and out of money.

Being creative types, rather than sit around complaining, many chose to make use of all this spare time to write and record new ideas so that when the restrictions lifted, they could hit the ground running, get back into pubs and clubs, earn some long-awaited performance fees and get back into recording studios around the country.

Rose Carleo is one such artist, who, along with husband and guitarist of her namesake hard rock band, Mick Adkins, knuckled down and wrote an albums' worth of new songs. Twelve months later Rose and
Mick along with Rose Carleo Band drummer Mick O'Shea and bassist Steve King, have made inroads towards their next musical releases.

To celebrate this return to loud, obnoxious rock 'n' roll camaraderie, Rose Carleo Band is releasing a cover from one of their most beloved contemporaries – ‘Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be’ by AC/DC.
Composed by guitarist brothers Malcolm and Angus Young with the incomparable bawdy lyricist Bon Scott, this pounding, groove-driven masterpiece has always been a fan favourite and a staple of
AC/DC's live set since its inclusion on the Let There Be Rock album, released in March 1977. The song's lyrics delve into the insecurities of a one-sided relationship and despite the frustrations, the resolve to
take the good with the bad.

‘Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be’ is also a permanent fixture in Rose Carleo Band's live set and as such was deemed the obvious choice to record by the band. That aside, Rose shares an affinity with Bon - not
only is he a major influence on her singing style, they both hail from Fremantle, Western Australia.

With the excitement surrounding the recording of new original songs, all stemming from those dark days of lockdowns, one could surmise that hell ain't a bad place to be after all.

The Rose Carleo Band is Rose Carleo (Vocals/guitar), Mick Adkins (guitar), Steve King (Bass) and Mick O’Shea (Drums).
